Foreign diplomats and representatives of international organisations were invited to Cambodia’s border area in Thmor Da commune, Pursat province, to directly observe what authorities described as the illegal occupation of Cambodian territory by the Thai military, as the government stepped up efforts to highlight the issue to the international community.

Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, led the visit and later presented a map of Cambodian territory at the “Chramoh Chruk” point in Sangkum Thmey village, Veal Veng district, Pursat province. He also showed a map highlighting the alleged illegal occupation in the Thmor Da area.

The delegation included ambassadors, representatives of foreign embassies, and major international organisations accredited to Cambodia.

Officials said the visit allowed diplomats to witness first-hand the installation of barbed wire and shipping containers by Thai military forces, despite a ceasefire agreement reached on December 27, 2025.

The Royal Government of Cambodia has lodged repeated protests through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, maintaining its firm stance of not recognising any border changes carried out through the use of force.
