During the meeting, Her Excellency the AIIB President commended Cambodia’s rapid growth and achievements and spoke highly of the Royal Government’s long-term national development goal. Her Excellency expressed her appreciation to the Royal Government of Cambodia, as well as relevant ministries and institutions, for their continued trust in and support for the AIIB. She also briefed Samdech Thipadei on the Bank’s four priority policies: climate change and clean energy; regional and cross-border infrastructure connectivity; technology-enabled infrastructure development; and private sector development. Her Excellency emphasised that these priorities are aligned with Cambodia’s development vision. She further reaffirmed that Cambodia is one of the AIIB’s key strategic partners and expressed the Bank’s commitment to strengthening cooperation and supporting development projects that contribute to Cambodia’s continued progress.

In response, Samdech Thipadei extended a warm welcome and congratulated Her Excellency on her appointment as President of the AIIB. Regarding clean energy development, Samdech Thipadei noted that the Royal Government of Cambodia has set a target of increasing the share of renewable energy to 70 per cent by 2030 and has introduced incentive policies to promote the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), contributing to the country’s long-term carbon neutrality goals. He also highlighted the need to continue refining measures in the logistics and energy sectors to enhance Cambodia’s regional and global competitiveness.

Before concluding, Samdech Thipadei encouraged the AIIB to maintain close engagement and consultations with relevant ministries, particularly the Ministry of Economy and Finance, to accelerate the implementation of practical cooperation projects that deliver maximum benefits to the Cambodian people.
