Senate President: Cambodia Seeks Only Peace and Equal Relations, Not Invasion
AKP | Phnom Penh, June 26, 2025 –Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has stressed that Cambodia desires only peace and equal relations—not conflict or invasion—while warning that if the Thai Prime Minister continues to act arrogantly, he will reveal private matters about her family.
During his visit this evening to approximately 1,500 displaced families—nearly 5,000 individuals—sheltering at the Wat Po 5000 Safety Centre in Kulen Thbong village, Kulen Thbong commune, Kulen district, Preah Vihear province, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed hope that Thailand will soon have a new Prime Minister who can work with Cambodia to peacefully resolve the ongoing border issue.
“I believe the Thai people, like the Cambodian people, want peace. But right now, we don’t even know who holds real power in Thailand—whether it’s the political party, the military, or the Prime Minister,” he said.
He also clarified that the current border tension is not the fault of all Thai citizens, but rather the result of actions by extremist groups and certain political figures.
