U.S. Congressional Delegation highlights their ongoing collaboration with the U.S. government to further strengthen ties and cooperation in the U.S.-Cambodia

On the afternoon of February 17, 2025, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a delegation from the United States Congress at the Peace Palace for a courtesy visit. The delegation included His Excellency Jimmy Panetta , His Excellency Salud Carbajal (member of the Democratic Party from the State of California), His Excellency Darin LaHood (member of Republican Party from the State of Illinois), and other associates.
During the meeting, the U.S. Congressional Delegation praised Cambodia’s rapid progress and highly valued the strong and growing ties and cooperation between the two nations. They noted the significant advancements in bilateral relations over the years, particularly as this year marks the 75th anniversary of U.S.-Cambodia diplomatic ties. The delegation also expressed confidence that, under Samdech Borvor Thipadei’s leadership, Cambodia will continue on a path of development and prosperity. Additionally, they emphasized their ongoing collaboration with the U.S. government to deepen their understanding of Cambodia to strengthen U.S.-Cambodia ties and cooperation.
In response, Samdech Borvor Thipadei expressed his satisfaction and highly valued the strong and growing U.S.-Cambodia ties and cooperation. He thanked the U.S. government and people for their continued support of Cambodia’s socio-economic development. He also underscored that the delegation’s visit, along with frequent high-level exchanges visit between the two countries, will further enhance cooperation and elevate bilateral relations to new heights
Both sides also discussed enhancing and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors, including politics, economy, trade, investment, education, health, national defense and security, and mine clearance.
