Hun Manet urges full implementation of border agreement

Prime Minister Hun Manet said the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand continues to hold, although it remains fragile.

Speaking at the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum in Vietnam on June 9, Mr Hun Manet said Cambodia remains concerned about the situation on the ground in occupied areas within Cambodian territory, stressing that borders and sovereignty must never be altered by force or through a fait accompli.

He noted that both Cambodia and Thailand have expressed commitment to a peaceful resolution and to turning the current ceasefire into lasting peace, with both sides continuing to uphold the Joint Statement of December 27, 2025.

Mr Hun Manet also highlighted the need for full, effective and urgent implementation of the statement, particularly Point 3, which calls for the prompt resumption of survey and demarcation work by the Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) in line with existing agreements.
