Senate President Hun Sen has criticised extremist groups for opposing issues without knowing the facts, citing their criticism of a recently promoted book on his Triangle Strategy.
In a social media post yesterday evening, Mr Hun Sen said four young intellectuals working at the Senate had recently promoted a book written by Ieng Pisey about the Triangle Strategy, which he introduced for implementation on December 2, 1998 at the first meeting of the new Council of Ministers during the second legislature of the National Assembly.
He noted that the book contains 1,111 pages, but the leader of an extremist group had accused it of falsifying, distorting, or fabricating history without having read it.
He sarcastically praised those who made such accusations without examining the book, saying their actions demonstrated that extremist groups opposed everything, including matters they did not yet understand.
Mr Hun Sen added that some Thai media outlets had republished the criticism, describing this as even more surprising and amusing. He questioned whether there was cooperation between Cambodian extremist groups and certain Thai media outlets.
The Senate President concluded by thanking some Thai media outlets for their continued coverage of him. AKP
