“Outdated maps” — but is the desire to rewrite history not outdated?
ដោយ៖ លោកតា
សម័យនេះ អ្វីៗក៏អាច “ហួសសម័យ” បានដែរ៖ ទូរស័ព្ទប៊ូតុងហួសសម័យ កាសែតក្រដាសហួសសម័យ សូម្បីស្បែកជើងកវែងសម័យឆ្នាំ ៧០ ក៏ហួសសម័យដែរ។
តែចម្លែកត្រង់ថា ដល់ពេលនិយាយអំពី “ផែនទីកំណត់ព្រំដែន” ដែលបារាំង និងសៀម បានចុះអនុសញ្ញាទទួលស្គាល់ជាផ្លូវការ បែរជាមានអ្នកលើកឡើងថា៖
“អូយ… វាហួសសម័យហើយ!”
អញ្ចឹងសុំសួរបន្តិច៖
បើផែនទីហួសសម័យ តើព្រំដែនប្រទេសគួរយកអ្វីវាស់?
Google Maps ឬ? ឬយក “អារម្មណ៍ស្នេហាជាតិ” មកគូសបន្ទាត់?
ថ្ងៃនេះថាផែនទីហួសសម័យ ស្អែកប្រហែលនិយាយថា៖ “ប្រាសាទបុរាណក៏ហួសសម័យដែរ ឲ្យខ្ញុំ repaint ថ្មីបន្តិច!”
មួយរយៈទៀត ប្រហែលជាថា៖ “ប្រវត្តិសាស្ត្រចាស់ពេក សុំ rewrite version update!”
មនុស្សខ្លះចូលចិត្តពាក្យ “ទំនើប” ដល់ថ្នាក់ភ្លេចថា ច្បាប់អន្តរជាតិ មិនមែនជា app ទូរស័ព្ទ ដែលត្រូវ update រៀងរាល់ខែទេ។
អនុសញ្ញា និងផែនទីដែលភាគីទទួលស្គាល់ គឺជាឯកសារផ្លូវការ មិនមែនជា status Facebook ដែលចង់ edit ពេលណាក៏បាននោះទេ។
ហើយអ្វីដែលគួរឲ្យអស់សំណើចនោះគឺ៖ ពេលឯកសារចាស់ “មានប្រយោជន៍” សម្រាប់ខ្លួន គេហៅថា “មរតកប្រវត្តិសាស្ត ហើយតែពេលឯកសារចាស់ “មិនត្រូវចិត្ត” គេបែរជាហៅថា “ហួសសម័យ” ភ្លាម!
ចឹងបើតាមទ្រឹស្តីនេះ៖
• សូម្បីតែឈ្មោះប្រទេស ក៏ប្រហែលត្រូវ update version 2.0 ដែរមែនទេអានុទិន?
ស្តាប់ទៅដូចក្មេងមិនចង់ចាញ់ល្បែង៖ ចាញ់ហើយ មិនទទួលលទ្ធផល បែរជានិយាយថា៖
“Game នេះ version ចាស់ ខ្ញុំមិនរាប់!”
ការពិតគឺ ផែនទីមិនចាស់ទេ តែអ្នកដែលព្យាយាមបកស្រាយប្រវត្តិសាស្ត្រតាមអារម្មណ៍ ទើបជាគំនិតចាស់៕

“Outdated maps” — but is the desire to rewrite history not outdated?
Nowadays, almost everything can become “outdated”:
button phones are outdated, paper newspapers are outdated, even 1970s leather boots are considered outdated.
But strangely enough, when it comes to border maps officially recognized through treaties between France and Siam, some people suddenly claim:
“Oh… those maps are outdated already!”
So let me ask this:
If the maps are outdated, then what should be used to measure national borders instead?
Google Maps?
Or should we draw borders based on “patriotic feelings”?
Today they say the maps are outdated. Tomorrow they may say:
“Ancient temples are outdated too — let me repaint them a little!”
And perhaps later on, they will even say:
“History is too old — let’s rewrite it with a new updated version!”
Some people are so obsessed with the word “modern” that they forget international law is not a smartphone app that needs monthly updates.
Treaties and officially recognized maps are legal documents, not Facebook statuses that can be edited whenever someone feels like it.
And the funniest part is this:
When old documents benefit them, they call them “historical heritage.”
But when those same old documents do not suit their interests, they suddenly label them “outdated.”
So according to this logic:
• Even the country’s name itself might need a Version 2.0 update too, right, Anutin?
It sounds just like a child who loses a game but refuses to accept the result, saying:
“This game is an old version — it doesn’t count!”
The truth is: the maps are not outdated.
What is outdated is the mindset of those who try to interpret history based on emotions rather than facts.
