Severe impacts of Thai military aggression have been reported in the Boeung Trakuon area of Kok Romiet commune, Thmar Puok district, Banteay Meanchey province, affecting four villages: Banteay Mean Rith, Phlov Bambek, Trapeang Samrong, and Samaki.

According to an AKP field reporter, Thai forces have encircled villages by placing shipping containers, an action described as a violation of international law and an infringement upon Cambodia’s territorial integrity.

Speaking at a press briefing this afternoon, Chann Rotana, Under Secretary of State and Acting Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said that during their full-scale military operations from Dec. 7 to 27, 2025, Thai armed forces carried out coordinated and systematic military attacks across multiple sectors of the internationally recognised boundary, forcibly entering, seizing and placing under their effective control areas situated unequivocally within Cambodian territory in four provinces including, inter alia:

Banteay Meanchey province: Prey Chan village, Chouk Chey village, Boeung Trakuon village; Pursat province: Phluk Domrei area, Thmar Da International Point of Entry area (Chrok Chey Chomneas); Preah Vihear province: An Ses area, Ta Thav area, Phnom Troap area; and Oddar Meanchey province: O’Smach area, K’nar Temple, Ta Krabei Temple, Tamone Thom Temple, Chob Angkunh area, and Chok Krous area.

He added that the Royal Government of Cambodia has lodged its most vigorous protest against Thailand’s violations, including continued illegal presence, occupation and military operations by Thai armed forces across these four Cambodian provinces. In disregard of the Special GBC’s Joint Statement of Dec. 27, 2025, on prohibiting provocative actions and non-use of any kind of force against civilians and civilian objects in all circumstances, Thai armed forces are intensifying demolition of Cambodian civilian and cultural structures, particularly in Prey Chan, Chouk Chey and Boeung Trakoun villages of Banteay Meanchey province and in the area of Thmar Da International Point of Entry in Pursat province.

The Acting Spokesperson also reaffirmed the Royal Government of Cambodia’s consistent and unwavering commitment to seeking an amicable resolution to all boundary disputes with Thailand, as with all its neighbours, through peaceful means, in accordance with international law, while remaining resolute in upholding its principled position that borders must not be changed by force.
