During a bilateral meeting held this morning at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh with H.E. Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister and Minister for Finance of the Republic of Singapore, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet extended his congratulations to the People’s Action Party on its recent election victory, which he said reflects the confidence and trust of the Singaporean people in their current leadership.
In response, H.E. Lawrence Wong expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm welcome extended to him and his delegation.
H.E. Lawrence Wong noted that, as Cambodia and Singapore mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year, the visit underscores the long-standing and strong partnership between the two nations—now and into the future.
Both leaders highly valued the longstanding, fruitful relationship and expressed their pleasure in and support for the events organised to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations. They also recognised the many achievements resulting from bilateral cooperation at all levels and in various sectors, and pledged to further strengthen and expand this close partnership.
Within the bilateral framework, the two Prime Ministers discussed and agreed to deepen cooperation in several key areas, including trade, investment and finance, people-to-people connectivity, national defence and security, agriculture, food security and energy, as well as skills development and vocational training.
Under the multilateral framework, the two sides also exchanged views on regional and international cooperation for the mutual benefit of both countries and their peoples.
