Malaysian Business Delegation Explores Investment Opportunities in Cambodia

On the afternoon of 26 June 2025, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from Mr. Dato’ Sri Dr. Ricky Yaw, President of Malaysia-Cambodia Business Association (MCBA), at the Peace Palace.

During the meeting, the MCBA President expressed deep gratitude to Samdech Borvor Thipadei for taking time from his busy schedule to meet with the delegation. He explained that the MCBA serves as a platform to link and enhance business and investment partnerships between the two nations. He noted that he had led a business delegation from 20 different associations interested in exploring investment opportunities in Cambodia across key sectors, including education, healthcare, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), agro-processing, construction, and real estate.

In response, Samdech Borvor Thipadei expressed satisfaction with the progress of Cambodia-Malaysia relations, particularly the growing connectivity between the two countries. He highlighted the launch of a new direct flight route by Cambodia Airways between Phnom Penh and Penang on June 26, operating two round-trip flights per week, in addition to existing routes. Samdech Borvor Thipadei warmly welcomed Malaysian entrepreneurs and investors interested in exploring opportunities in Cambodia. He emphasized the Royal Government’s policies and measures designed to support and encourage investors, including the Law on Investment, which provides a liberal framework and various incentives, particularly for the SME sector—a key driver of Cambodia’s economic growth. Additionally, the Royal Government has implemented measures to enhance Cambodia’s competitiveness at both regional and international levels.

Before concluding, Samdech Borvor Thipadei encouraged the MCBA to deepen cooperation with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions to better understand policies and incentives, enabling them to capitalize on investment opportunities in Cambodia.
