Vietnamese Minister of Public Security Pledges Enhanced Cooperation with Cambodian Ministry of Interior

On the afternoon of May 16, 2025, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from His Excellency Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security of Vietnam, at the Peace Palace.

During the meeting, General Luong Tam Quang expressed his deep gratitude to Samdech Borvor Thipadei for the opportunity to pay a courtesy call. He congratulated Cambodia on its progress across all sectors and expressed optimism that, under the wise leadership of Samdech Borvor Thipadei and the cool shade (benevolent reign) of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, Cambodia would continue to achieve new milestones for the benefit of its people and the nation.
The Minister also expressed his satisfaction with the growing friendship, relations, and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia—particularly the collaboration between Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security and Cambodia’s Ministry of Interior. He emphasized that this partnership serves as a pillar in the joint efforts to combat crimes such as human trafficking, cyber scams, and drug offenses. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to further strengthening and expanding cooperation with the Cambodian Ministry of Interior to maintain security and stability for the benefit of both nations and their citizens.

In response, Samdech Borvor Thipadei welcomed and thanked the Minister and his delegation for attending the 80th anniversary of the establishment of Cambodian National Police (May 16, 1945 – May 16, 2025). Samdech expressed satisfaction with the strong and growing cooperation between the two ministries. He also extended his appreciation to the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security for its contributions to Cambodia’s human resource development through ongoing training and capacity-building for Cambodian trainees.
Samdech Borvor Thipadei encouraged both ministries to continue fostering the tradition of close collaboration, particularly in the areas of training, maintaining security, and crime prevention, to further deepen the bilateral relationship and cooperation between the two countries.
