AirAsia Pledges to Enhance Connectivity for Passengers and Tourists Visiting Cambodia
On the afternoon of March 20, 2025, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A Group (AirAsia), at the Peace Palace.
During the meeting, the CEO expressed his delight and pride in AirAsia’s investments in Cambodia, highlighting the country’s potential for aviation investment. He noted that the construction of three airports in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Preah Sihanouk provinces would drive a steady increase in passengers and tourists visiting Cambodia. Additionally, the CEO reaffirmed AirAsia’s commitment to strengthening connectivity for passengers and tourists traveling to Cambodia.
In response, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei congratulated AirAsia on its growth and success in Cambodia, emphasizing that the airline’s investments have significantly contributed to the nation’s socio-economic progress, particularly in the tourism sector. He also underscored the Royal Government of Cambodia’s efforts to implement key mechanisms and measures to support and promote airlines and travel agencies operating in the country. Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei encouraged AirAsia to collaborate with the Royal Government of Cambodia to further advance tourism development in the Kingdom.
