Speaker of the Philippine House of Representatives Praises Cambodia’s Rapid Progress
On February 11, 2025, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, met with His Excellency Ferdinand Martin Gomez Romualdez, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of the Philippines, during his official visit to Manila from February 10–11, 2025.
During the meeting, Samdech Borvor Thipadei briefed His Excellency Ferdinand Martin Gomez Romualdez on the fruitful outcomes of his bilateral meeting with His Excellency Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines. Their discussions focused on elevating bilateral relations and cooperation to new heights across various sectors, such as trade, investment, education, tourism, culture, people-to-people connection, as well as national defense and security. Samdech Borvor Thipadei also expressed his gratitude to the Philippine government for its care and support for Cambodian citizens and students residing in the Philippines.
In response, His Excellency Ferdinand Martin Gomez Romualdez expressed his satisfaction and high appreciation for the strong relations and cooperation between the two countries. He reaffirmed the House of Representatives’ support for these efforts, particularly in relation to the eight agreements signed during the official visit.
His Excellency also commended the close ties between the legislative bodies of both nations. Additionally, he conveyed his gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia for its care and support for the Filipino community living and working in Cambodia.
Furthermore, His Excellency praised Cambodia’s rapid progress under the leadership of Samdech Borvor Thipadei, emphasizing that the country’s continued development—guided by Samdech’s long-term vision—not only benefits the Cambodian people but also contributes positively to the entire region.
Samdech Borvor Thipadei and His Excellency Ferdinand Martin Gomez Romualdez expressed confidence that the relationship between the legislative bodies of Cambodia and the Philippines will become more dynamic and active, contributing to strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing people-to-people connections between the two nations.
