A: That is not true. The Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia completely and categorically rejected this allegation as it is entirely devoid of evidence. Therefore, this reporting is false information and a defamation that harms the honor of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and could unnecessarily escalate tensions along the border.
Q2: Why does the Thai side continue to disseminate such false information?
A: The dissemination of such false information is intended by Thailand to mislead the public opinion and create confusion about the actual situation along the border, as they intend to maliciously shift blame onto Cambodia. It may also be a tactic to divert attention away from Thailand’s own provocative actions, including the firing of warning shots when a foreign content creator went to film and report on the real situation at the border, as well as the incident in which the Thai side, without prior notification to the Cambodian side, detonated three unexploded ordnances while the ASEAN Observer Team was on a mission.
