The Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to reduce additional taxes on gasoline and diesel in a move aimed at easing the financial burden on citizens amid rising global fuel prices.

The decision, made under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, forms part of broader efforts to support household livelihoods as international oil prices continue to fluctuate.

According to the announcement, the government will continue to reduce fuel prices by $0.065 per litre. In addition, a further $0.01 per litre reduction will be applied when international gasoline prices exceed $90 per barrel and diesel prices surpass $100 per barrel.

The government has also maintained a zero-rate customs duty on fuel imports.

In response to continued increases in global fuel prices, the Prime Minister has approved further tax relief measures. These include reducing the additional tax on gasoline and diesel to zero, cutting the special tax on diesel from 4 percent to 0 percent, and lowering the additional tax rate on both gasoline and diesel from 10 percent to 4 percent, with the government absorbing the remaining 6 percent.

The new pricing structure took effect on March 20, 2026, and will remain in place until further notice.

Under the revised rates, regular gasoline (Gasoline 92) is set at 5,400 riel per litre, while diesel (Gasoil 10ppm) is priced at 6,700 riel per litre.
