Q1: How does Cambodia assess Thailand’s implementation of the ceasefire?
A: Cambodia has strictly respected and implemented the ceasefire and all points of the Joint Statement of December 27, 2025. In contrast, Cambodia has observed that the Thai side continues to undertake actions contrary to the agreements, including the installation of barbed wire and shipping containers, the construction of new structures, the destruction of infrastructure, and the creation of faits accomplis on the ground. Cambodia considers these actions inconsistent with the commitment to maintaining the status quo and to reducing tensions. Moreover, the Thai side has refused to implement Point 3 of the Joint Statement, which agreed to entrust the Joint Boundary Commission (JBC) with the task of conducting surveys and border demarcation between the two countries as soon as possible. These are clear evidence that Thailand has not fully implemented the ceasefire.

Q2: What evidence does Cambodia have to support its claim that the areas of Khnar Temple, Tamone Thom Temple, and An Ses are within Cambodia’s sovereign territory?
A: Cambodia affirms that these areas are within its sovereign territory, based on the 1:200,000 scale maps, which serve as the official basis for determining the international border and are internationally recognized. Furthermore, Cambodia has pointed out that even Thailand’s unilateral L7017 maps at the scale of 1:50,000 also show that these areas lie within Cambodian territory. Therefore, Cambodia considers that the illegal occupation of these areas by Thai military forces constitutes an indisputable act of territorial aggression.

Q3: What results has Cambodia’s diplomacy achieved in safeguarding national sovereignty?
A: Cambodia has actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to inform the international community about the situation along the border and its commitment to a peaceful solution. As a result, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF) has adopted a resolution supporting Cambodia’s sovereignty and calling for respect for agreements and the resolution of border issues through the JBC mechanism. At the same time, international media and many influential foreign individuals on social media have also raised awareness of Thailand’s aggression, which has caused suffering to many innocent Cambodian civilians along the border, and have expressed support for Cambodia’s peaceful stance.
