Senior CPC official meets Cambodian King and Queen Mother in Beijing

Communist Party of China (CPC) senior official Cai Qi met with King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk in Beijing yesterday.

Cai, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, stated that, despite changes in the international landscape, the friendship between China and Cambodia has endured through thick and thin and grown stronger over time.

Noting that China-Cambodia relations were elevated to an “all-weather” community with a shared future in the new era last April, Cai said China is willing to work with Cambodia to follow the consensus reached by both heads of state. He added that China aims to strengthen strategic mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and continue to make progress in building a bilateral community with a shared future.

King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Monineath said that the ironclad friendship between their nations was forged by earlier generations of leaders and remains steadfast.

They also said that Cambodia firmly adheres to the “one-China” principle, supports initiatives proposed by the Chinese side, and is willing to strengthen cooperation across various fields and multilateral coordination to inject more certainty into a world defined by change and volatility. Xinhua
