Oddar Meanchey – A delegation of diplomats from 11 countries, along with representatives from 15 United Nations agencies and affiliated organisations, visited the Wat Phnom Thmar Kambor refugee camp in Banteay Ampil district, Oddar Meanchey province, this afternoon to assess the humanitarian conditions of displaced civilians.

The visit was led by Secretaries of State Kan Pharidh and Un Kheang from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who guided the delegation during an on-site inspection of the temporary shelter at Wat Thmor Kambor in Pou Chas village.

Among the participating UN agencies were the World Health Organization (WHO), UNESCO, and UNICEF, along with other humanitarian and relief organisations currently working in coordination with Cambodian authorities to provide emergency assistance.

According to government reports, between 24 July and 3 August, the camp received 3,905 families—equivalent to 12,474 individuals—who had fled conflict-affected areas along the Thai-Cambodian border.

However, the number of arrivals has continued to rise since 4 August. As of today, authorities confirmed that the camp is now hosting 4,280 families, totalling 14,764 people.
