Cambodia to Announce Additional Special Procedure for Exporting Goods to the U.S. Soon
AKP Phnom Penh, April 23, 2025 —
The Ministry of Commerce and related ministries and institutions are in the process of preparing additional special procedure for exporting goods to the U.S. market by strengthening the mechanism for monitoring the use of local content and value-add to ensure transparency and compliance with the provisions of the Law on Rules of Origin and the U.S.’ rules of origin.
The move is aimed to safeguard the interests of producers and exporters in Cambodia, said the ministry this evening, adding that the additional special procedure will be announced in the near future.
The Ministry of Commerce also reaffirmed Cambodia’s strict adherence to international trade rules, obligations, and commitments undertaken upon its accession to the World Trade Organisation, in which Cambodia prepared and promulgated the Law on Rules of Origin on July 5, 2023. This law aims to promote and facilitate trade benefiting from trade preferences and the implementation of non-preferential rules as well as preventing frauds of origin of goods.
In this regard, the ministry continued, all producers and exporters to the U.S. market are urged to take due note of this information and to implement it with the utmost diligence.
