Q1: What is the stance of the Royal Government of Cambodia regarding territory illegally seized by Thailand?
A: The Royal Government of Cambodia has a clear stance that territorial issues and national sovereignty are fundamental matters that can never be forgotten, abandoned, or sacrificed for any political interest. Cambodia does not recognize changes to the actual situation on the ground brought about unilaterally, and continues to uphold its demand for respect for the international border, treaties, and existing legal documents. The Royal Government remains committed to firmly and patiently defending Cambodia’s territorial integrity, through international law and peaceful mechanisms, to ensure that the country’s national interests and sovereignty are fully protected.
Q2: What measures has the Royal Government taken to ensure that territorial issues are not overlooked?
A: The Royal Government of Cambodia has consistently utilized all official mechanisms, such as the JBC, GBC, and RBC, to resolve border issues and protect national interests. At the same time, Cambodia has called on Thailand to fully implement existing agreements and joint statements to ensure respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity. Furthermore, Cambodia is also prepared to resort to international legal mechanisms, when necessary, to ensure that the resolution is achieved in a just and transparent manner, with international recognition.
