Civil Aviation Spokesperson: new Techo International Airport provides a unique, amazing and exciting experience for travelers

Mr. Sinn Chanserey Vutha, Secretary of State and Spokesperson for Civil Aviation has stated that the new Techo International Airport ‘provides a unique, wonderful, and exciting feeling’ for every traveler upon arriving at the airport.

Mr. Sinn’s remarks came on the occasion of the start of the process of receiving flights at Techo International Airport.

Mr. Sinn stated that, “There are not many 4F type airports in the region, but if you look at ASEAN, such as Singapore and Malaysia, they are similar in size to Cambodia. But what is unique and a good experience is that when you enter Techo International Airport, you feel different, amazing, and excited . ”

In addition, Mr. Sinn said that there are few architectures or airports that provide such a sense of wonder and excitement to travelers as at Techo International Airport.

Meanwhile, on behalf of civil aviation, Mr. Sinn expects that Techo International Airport will facilitate entry and exit and will encourage a permanent increase in tourists.

According to Mr. Sinn, on the first day of the opening of Techo International Airport on September 9, 2025, the first flight to be welcomed was the national airline Air Cambodia (K6 611), which landed at 8:00 am.

Located 20 kilometers south of the capital, Techo International Airport will be able to handle up to 13 million passengers a year, and aims to reach 50 million by 2050.

The old Phnom Penh International Airport, operating since 1959, was closed for good on the eve of the new airport’s debut.

Techo International Airport will be officially inaugurated on October 20, 2025.
