Cambodia, Myanmar to continue strengthening bilateral ties

Cambodia and Myanmar will continue to work closely to further deepen their bilateral relations and cooperation, especially between their legislative bodies.
In a message dated yesterday, Cambodian Acting Head of State Hun Sen thanked Khin Yi, Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw of Myanmar, for his letter dated April 28 regarding the excellent friendship and good relations between the two countries, between the Pyithu Hluttaw (House of Representatives) of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, as well as the good cooperation between their two parties.
Mr Hun Sen also took the opportunity to extend his heartfelt congratulations to Khin Yi on his election as Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw.
“I am confident that your speakership will further foster Myanmar’s national progress and the relations between our two countries and legislative bodies as well as contribute significantly to the peace, stability and prosperity of our region,” he underlined.
The Acting Head of State also reaffirmed Cambodia’s firm commitment to further advancing the bilateral relations and cooperation. “I look forward to working closely with Your Excellency to ensure the long-term prosperity and enduring bond between Myanmar and Cambodia,” he concluded. AKP
