The Thai military has continued its armed aggression against Cambodian territory, largely targeting civil infrastructure such as bridge and schools, firing heavy artillery and using F-16 fighter jets to carry out bombing missions.
Last night, the Thai military destroyed the O’Chik bridge, located on the border between Siem Reap province and Oddar Meanchey province.
This morning, December 20, Thai aircraft attacked private commercial buildings and a primary school in Thma Da, Pursat province.
“These actions constitute serious violations of the UN Charter, international law and international humanitarian law. Cambodia strongly condemns this armed aggression and calls upon the international community to take immediate and necessary measures to halt the Thai military’s attacks on Cambodia,” said Minister of Information Neth Pheaktra.
“The use of force against Cambodian sovereignty, coupled with attacks that have affected civilians and civilian infrastructure, is unacceptable under international law and international humanitarian law. No security claim authorises the bombing of civilian areas or the violation of another state’s territorial integrity,” he added.
