Thai Mine Claim Misrepresents Facts, Calls for Joint ASEAN Observer Probe
Cambodian military sources have rejected Thai military statements made today, claiming that a landmine allegedly stepped on by Thai forces on 10 November in an old minefield in Preah Vihear was a newly laid device.
The sources further questioned the credibility of images circulated via mobile phones, which allegedly showed Cambodian forces laying new mines. “Such claims lack sufficient evidence and must be verified through joint investigations before any conclusions are drawn,” they said, stressing the importance of collaboration to establish the facts. -Khmer Times-
