Synopsis: Starting October, Turkish Airlines and Etihad Airways will connect their flights to Cambodia.

The Techo International Airport (KTI), Cambodia’s newest and largest airport, is set to welcome more new major airlines to its roster in October, marking a new route for the airport.

Sinn Chanserey Vutha, Secretary of State and spokesperson for State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA), said yesterday that there will be two more airlines to operate flight services to Cambodia’s brand-new airport, marking a new route for the airport.

“In October, two more major airlines that will connect their flights to Cambodia are Turkish Airlines and Etihad Airways,” he said.

Regarding the move, Etihad Airways has unveiled its business schedule for launching direct flights from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to Cambodia’s KTI from October 3, 2025.

Charles Tan, Regional Managing Director (Asia and Australia) of Etihad Airways, updated the airline’s business in a meeting with Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, on September 12 in Phnom Penh.

The meeting was held to discuss work and reporting on the company’s business activities, related to the launch of direct flights from Abu Dhabi capital, United Arab Emirates, to Phnom Penh.

Hak thanked and appreciated the company for seeing the strong tourism potential as an emerging market and for its trust in Cambodia, citing that it will help connect Cambodia to the world and promote Cambodia’s tourism potential to all destinations of the airlines.

“By launching direct flights from Abu Dhabi capital to Techo International Airport from October 3, 2025, the airline will certainly help increase the number of international passengers and tourists to Cambodia,” Hak said.

The arrival of new airlines is a positive indicator for the airport’s growth, which aims to handle 13 million passengers annually in its first phase and significantly more in subsequent phases.
