AKP-Phnom Penh, June 14, 2025 —The 6th Meeting of the Joint Commission on Demarcation for Land Boundary (JBC) between Cambodia and Thailand, held in Phnom Penh, is set to continue tomorrow morning.

H.E. Lam Chea, Minister in Charge of the State Secretariat of Border Affairs and head of the Cambodian delegation, confirmed that the meeting will resume at 9:00 a.m. on June 15.

The first day of discussions concluded around 4:00 p.m., but no official details have been released regarding the outcomes of the session.

The Thai delegation is led by H.E. Prasas Prasasvinitchai, Advisor to the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs in charge of border affairs.

Prior to the formal meeting, both sides also held a retreat session for preliminary discussions.

The Cambodia-Thailand border tension intensified when Thai military forces opened fire on a Cambodian army post located in Techo Morokot village, Morokot commune, Choam Khsan district, Preah Vihear province—an area long recognised as a Cambodian military position on the morning of May 28, 2025, at approximately 5:30 a.m. Tragically, the exchange resulted in the death of a Cambodian soldier.

Cambodia has decided to bring Ta Moan Thom, Ta Moan Tauch, and Ta Krabei temple complexes, as well as the Mom Bei area to International Court of Justice.
