On the afternoon of 24 February 2025, Samdech Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from General Ronald P. Clark, Commanding General of the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC), at the Peace Palace.

During the discussion, General Ronald P. Clark expressed his pleasure at visiting Cambodia again and briefed Samdech Borvor Thipadei on the fruitful outcomes of his meeting with General Mao Sophan, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army. He underscored the importance of people-to-people relations and good military-to-military cooperation between the two countries, emphasising the United States’ desire to see further progress in these relationships, particularly in military-to-military relations. Additionally, General Clark was impressed by and highly valued Cambodia’s active contribution to UN peacekeeping missions by sending its peacekeeping forces under the UN flag to various countries around the world.

In response, Samdech Borvor Thipadei welcomed General Ronald P. Clark and his delegation and highly valued the productive discussions between the Royal Cambodian Army and the U.S. Army delegation. He emphasised that the frequent exchanges of visits between military officials and the resumption of cooperation in key activities, such as training, reflect the progress of bilateral relations. Samdech Borvor Thipadei thanked the United States government for its support of Cambodia’s demining efforts. He further remarked, “In the past, Cambodia was a recipient of United Nations (UN) peacekeepers, but today, it has transformed into a nation that deploys peacekeeping forces to various countries under UN peacekeeping missions worldwide.” On that occasion, Samdech Borvor Thipadei also encouraged the continued close relations between the United States Army and the Royal Cambodian Army to further strengthen and expand military cooperation between the two countries.
