The Central Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) has announced that it will host three high-level summits on February 6–7, 2026, bringing together top leaders of Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos to further strengthen traditional ties and enhance cooperation among the three ruling parties.
According to a press statement issued by the CPP, the meetings will include two bilateral summits and one trilateral summit.
The first bilateral summit will be held between the Standing Committee of the CPP Central Committee, led by Hun Sen, President of the CPP and President of the Senate of Cambodia, and the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, led by To Lam, General Secretary of the Party.
The second bilateral summit will take place between the CPP leadership, also headed by Hun Sen, and the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, led by Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Party.
A trilateral summit will then be convened among the top leaders of the CPP, the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party. The meeting will be chaired by the respective Party Presidents and General Secretaries and attended by the Prime Ministers and National Assembly leaders of the three countries, as well as other senior party officials.
The CPP said the three summits aim to promote traditional friendship, solidarity, cooperation and mutual support in addressing issues in inter-party relations in a timely and effective manner.
Held in a spirit of mutual respect for independence, sovereignty, peace and sustainable development, the meetings are expected to serve the interests of the parties, the states and the peoples of the three nations.
The summits will also contribute to building and safeguarding peace and prosperity in the region and the wider world.
The CPP further clarified that the meetings will coincide with the official state visits to Cambodia by To Lam on February 6, 2026, and by Thongloun Sisoulith on February 6–7, 2026.
Both visits are being made at the invitation of King Norodom Sihamoni.
