On the morning of 19 September 2025, at the Peace Palace, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received a courtesy call from Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi Bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).

During the meeting, the Commander expressed his profound gratitude to Samdech Thipadei for making time in his busy schedule to receive him and his delegation. He also conveyed greetings from His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam. The Commander underscored the excellent co-operation between the two countries and highly valued the progress in relations between their armed forces, both bilaterally and within the ASEAN framework. He further expressed appreciation to Cambodia for sending personnel for training in Brunei and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting and strengthening military co-operation between the two nations.

In response, Samdech Thipadei expressed his pleasure and highly valued the fruitful progress in the relations and co-operation between the two armed forces. He expressed confidence that the Commander’s visit would contribute to further advancing military ties. Samdech Thipadei also extended his gratitude to Brunei for its continued support in training Cambodian military personnel.

Furthermore, Samdech Thipadei expressed his hope that the two militaries would continue to strengthen and broaden their co-operation through exchanges of visits at all levels, joint military exercises, and collaboration in combating transnational crime.

Regarding the Cambodia–Thailand border situation, Samdech Thipadei thanked Brunei for its support and participation in the Interim Observer Team (IOT) and briefed the Commander on the latest developments. He emphasised Cambodia’s firm stance on resolving border issues with Thailand peacefully, based on international law and existing bilateral agreements, conventions, and treaties.

The Commander reiterated Brunei’s continued support for the IOT mechanism and underscored the importance of resolving the Cambodia–Thailand border issue peacefully to maintain lasting peace between the two neighbouring countries and stability across the region.
